Good Bye Mexico
We left the hotel to head to the airport at 11:00am and didn't get home until the following day at 12:30pm. We did not know what we had in store. I wore shorts and flip flops because we were leaving 90 degree weather. We arrived in an ice storm. It took my dad 3 hours to get to the airport but he finally made it at 11:00pm, and it took 2 hours to get to his house (at 1:00am). After waiting an hour to get onto the on ramp (2:00am), we turned around and went back to my dad's house to stay the night. I have never seen traffic like this but all the roads were sheets of ice. We were actually lucky compared to some of the people that sat on the freeway for 15 hours. What a way to end the trip!

Day Six in Mexico
Tyler went deep sea fishing for the day and caught a 150 pound marlin. When he returned, we took Riley for her second swimming experience and you can tell from her face that she did not enjoy it this time. Then we joined the family for dinner and Riley slept through it. Good thing we put her in her pjs first.

Day Five in Mexico
Tyler spent the day on Deer Island snorkeling and exploring with Chrissy and her boyfriend, Dave. Riley and I spent some extra time napping. It's exhausting sitting around the room all day. When Tyler got back and the sun had gone down, we took Riley swimming for her first time. She didn't even react to the change of temperature when she entered the water and seemed to enjoy floating around.

Thanksgiving in Mexico
Day four in Mexico was Thanksgiving. Even though Riley's skin had not been exposed to the sun, the reflection from the ocean or pavement caused her to get a little burn under her eyes. She woke up with her eyes swollen and that put a halt to any time spent outdoors. The only time we left the room was to go to breakfast and after the sun set at 5:00. Not exactly how you would want to spend your time in Mexico, but there was no way we were risking anymore sun damage to our precious baby. Riley continued to work on her grabbing skills, including grabbing her dress and pulling it up (you can see her swollen eyes). We met the family for a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner of filet mignon with blue cheese sauce and chocolate mousse for dessert (not the traditional turkey, but delicious). There was even a turkey tied up outside for all the kids to see, and at some point, it managed to lay an egg in the bushes. Riley ended the day wading in the kids' pool when the sun couldn't hurt her fragile skin.
