Kai's First Birthday

Kai turned one and enjoyed his first birthday cake. I think he wore more than he ate. Here are the before and after pictures. Riley had a repeat performance on naptime from Halloween. When she woke up, she got to visit with the Fischers.

Dad's Wedding

I turned 31 and my dad got married. Jonathan and David were groomsmen, and we got front row seats. Loretta looked beautiful and the wedding was nice. It was great to see old family friends from church and meet one of dad's friends from his youth in Missouri.

Purple

We went to the Purple Cafe and Wine Bar in Woodinville. This place is excellent! Maybe not the greatest place to bring babies, but Riley was an angel.

Riley's First Christmas

Riley loved her first big present. Even though she can't sit in it yet, she fits perfectly for lounging around. Riley had a fun-filled day celebrating the holiday with both sides of the family. We spent the morning at our house with Uncle Derek, Aunt Jen, Grandpa Malcolm and G-ma Sue. Then we headed to Grandmom Lyn and Grandpop Ron's house for dinner. Aunt Chrissy, Uncle Dave, Uncle Jon, and Dave were also there. Ron's sons, Andy and Bryce were able to join us as well.
Riley and I finished the day in our matching pjs from Grandma Lyn and Grandpop Ron.

Christmas Eve

We celebrated Christmas Eve with my dad at my house. We played games, opened gifts, and watched the Seahawks lose in the last 2 seconds of the game. Tyler took Riley upstairs to help her rest after that exciting game.

Grandpa Malcolm

Grandpa Malcolm and G-ma Sue came into town a day early, so we joined them for dinner at Derek and Jen's. Riley was glad her grandparents were able to make it over from Yakima.

Christmas Ships

We went out to dinner with Grandpa Josh and Loretta at the new Blue Water Kirkland and watched the Christmas Ships take off from Carillon Point. It is so beautiful there all year, but there's something special about this season.

First Day of Day Care

To help alleviate some of the anxiety of the first day back to work and leaving Riley at Daycare, we did a trial run over the winter break. She spent a half day (3 hours) at the wonderful Little Bears Daycare in the Bannisters' home. Riley enjoyed her time with Kim and was fascinated by the big kids. Even though it will be hard to leave her all day, I know she is in good hands and will be loved while I'm at work.
Check out Riley's full on mohawk!

Spa Party

Some of the staff from Westhill got together for a spa day at Jeanine's house. What a great way to kick off the winter vacation!

Kellee's Graduation

We went to our third party of the weekend to celebrate our friend, Kellee's, graduation from Western. Riley is getting to be quite the party animal. This is Kellee's boyfriend Matt and a little guy named Gavin.

Christmas in Tacoma

We got together with Tyler's family in Tacoma and celebrated the season and all the winter birthdays. It was the first time Riley saw some of her relatives, including Ann who flew in from L.A. for the festivities.

Tyler's college friends, Nate and Michele, had their 3rd annual WSU Christmas party. Riley got to meet some of Tyler's old friends, including Katie.

Lunch in Ballard

We visited family at work at Great Western Pump and had lunch at Chinooks. Jon thought it would be a good idea to wake Riley up to hold her. Wait until he's a parent!

Santa Visit

Riley, Grandpa Josh, and I went to Bellevue Square first thing in the morning to visit Santa at his workshop. Getting there at 9 am, the line was nice and short, and we even beat Santa. He's a very busy guy this time of year! Riley did great for the picture, and hopefully the shiny drool won't show up on the professional photo. After all that hard work, she took a little nap while I finished my Christmas shopping.
