Dress from Grandma Lyn

Here's a picture of Riley in a dress from Grammy. She thinks Riley only wears big kid styled clothes (my preference) and is considering not buying her anymore clothes. She prefers the babyish and girly clothes, so here's the proof that she wears what she is given. She looks cute no matter what she is wearing. Thanks Grammy and keep the clothes coming!

Leaving Baltimore

We went to the airport on February 24th at about 4pm. The flight was not able to land on time due to weather issues in Mineapolis where we had a connection flight. Because we were late, none of the food vendors were open. Our flight out of Mineapolis was delayed due to a lack of pilot, but the ended up boarding us in hopes that s/he would soon arrive from their previous flight. After sitting on the plane for an hour and half, we were told that the flight was cancelled due to the weather. To make a long story short, they lost Riley's car seat and we had to spend the night in Mineapolis without dinner. We were lucky to be able get a flight back to Seattle the next day, and we were finally home at 4:30 pm. Here are a couple of pictures of Riley enjoying her time at the airport, with Duck and Turtle.

Day Six and Supposed Last Day

We went out to lunch with Dave and Chrissy and Riley got to spend some last bonding moments with Dave. He shaved off his mustache, so he looks like a whole new person.

Day Five in Baltimore

We went shopping at a huge mall that had outlet stores for babies. Grandma spoiled Riley! In the evening, we went out to dinner with Chrissy's neighbors for crabs. It is a Maryland tradition to "pick crabs." Our table ordered 36 crabs and ate all but 4. I don't even like meat on the bone, so I had crab cakes and crab soup. After the busy day, Riley crashed out in her car seat , even with all the loud crab pickin'. Check out Dave' s handlebar mustache that only made an appearance for the day.

Day Four in Baltimore

We actually spent this day in New York. We left Baltimore early in the morning and drove for three hours. It took us almost as long to find parking, but we ended up with a great spot just a couple blocks from our destination. We packed up the stroller and headed to the American Express Building to meet a friend for lunch. It was great to see Maggie, band introduce her to Riley. Maggie had to get back to work, so we moved our car closer to our final destination, and got a spot right in front of the building (never happens in New York). We walked around the area while we waited for our friends to get off work and visited the Warner Times Building. People in New York do not usually talk to each other on the street, but Riley was the star of the show on every street corner. One couple even yelled from across the street that she was the cutest baby. After cupcakes and coffee at Dean and Deluca, we went back to Greg's apartment and he met us there. It was so good to see him! Riley and I also finally got to meet Greg's boyfriend, Brian, and his family. We had a wonderful Chinese New Year Celebration and saw the pictures from their trip to Europe. At 10pm, we jumped back in the car and made the return trip to Baltimore. Riley was fine for the morning trip, but she did not enjoy the ride home.

Day One in Baltimore

Riley, my mom, and I flew to Baltimore to visit Chrissy and Dave for a week. We had a great time just hanging out and checking out the recent house flip they are working on. The first night took a little bit of effort to get Riley to sleep. She fell asleep in Grammy's arms, but then was ready for round 2 with snuggling and girl time watching The Devil Wears Prada.

First Solids

Riley had her 6 month appointment and was given the go-head for solids. She tried Rice Cereal for the first time and was a natural eater. Here are her before and after pictures. She also weighed in at 15 pounds 4 ounces and was 26 1/2 inches. She's right at the 50th percentile for height and a little under for weight. She also had her second ear infection, complete with fever right before her 6 month checkup. Poor thing!
